CJUS 1170 - Introduction to Criminology(3 CR, 3T + 0L)
This course focuses on the problem of crime, its context, and explains the various causes of crime. It provides a foundational understanding of criminology, theories of crime, and types of crime. Class discussions involve topics on the nature and extent of crime, victims and victimization, and the intersectionality between race, ethnicity, gender, class and crime. Students also explore issues related to terrorism and political, economic, public order and violent crimes.
