ENVS 4410 - Soil Testing and Interpretation(3 CR, 3T + 0L)
You will become acquainted with soil composition and classification; relationship of soil to plant growth and animal health; use of fertilizers, erosion and control. You will study the four general components of soil testing: a) soil sampling and handling, b) analytical methodology involved in nutrient extraction from the soil by various tests, c) interpretation of the analytical results, and d) recommendations for the correction of soil nutritional problems, including acidity, deficiencies, imbalances, and excess levels.
Prerequisite(s): ENVS 1110 /ENVS 1110L , BIOL 2310 /BIOL 2310L , and CHEM 1120 /CHEM 1120L Corequisite(s): ENVS 4410L .
