BIOL 2720 - Biotechnology III(3 CR, 2T + 1L)
Provides theory and experience with protocols used to characterize and manipulate nucleic acids and proteins. Builds on techniques learned in Biotechnology II. Techniques include RNA and protein isolation and quantification, RT-PCR, RNA interference, mammalian transfections, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISAs, and basic bioinformatics and proteomics skills. Current issues and topics related to biotechnology will be explored.
